CrossFit Kyoto's Weightlifting Platform in the personal training room is done!

CrossFit Kyoto Weightlifting Platform Completed on December 18th - Sustainability at its best!


YAY! Thanks to our tireless helper and talented overall craftswoman Vai our super-noise-absorbing quadruple layered platform is complete and has been tested for effect (see video). Otsukaresama, Vai and thanks a ton! (no pun intended 😉)

 

 

Not only is it noise-absorbing but we got to re-use a lot of material from the previous dojo:
Thick green rubber tatami mats form the very bottom layer and are also on the sides to protect the wood frame. Pieces of the old weightlifting platforms are sandwiched on top of the green mats. The recycled blanket type material we used to absorb noise at the old dojo (remember those?! :D) now protect the wooden boards. Last but not least it is all covered with black mats from the old dojo and a spankin’ new wooden platform nicely finished with eco friendly OSMO wood varnish (Dekorwachs from Germany).

You are welcome to use the Weightlifting Platform during Basic Buffing time(open gym) and for half an hour before /after your workout as long as the Personal Training room is not occupied.

Make sure you warm up well before doing them heavy duty lifts and remember it’s not about how heavy you lift but how long you can lift heavy 😉 - it’s all about sustainability and balance just like our new platform.
