The person I was a year ago would be impressed and proud of the person I am today
late 20’s *from 2/week to 5/week
I tried CrossFit for the first time in March 2019. I arrived a bit early, and saw a regular class which made me think that only strong, super fit people could do this. I wondered where I would fit in.
But I was signed up for the trial, so there were no way back and ... it just got me, I loved it. Russell totally adapted the WOD for my knee rehabilitation and my physical condition.
Another thing that really got me is the “family”-feeling: CrossFit Kyoto has an awesome community, I felt at home right away. Everyone is so kind, so considerate and we are having so much fun.
I started by working out twice a week and soon increased the number of classes. Now I am just going anytime I feel my body is well rested and ready for another awesome WOD... which tends to be every day.
My objective when I started was: get healthier!
I achieved so much in this past year:
- lost a lot of weight, more than 40 kg.
- got so much stronger. Who knew I could lift that heavy!
- got more flexible thanks to all the stretching before and after classes and thanks to Yoga with Agasa, too
- and I keep achieving things I didn’t know I could.. I now can climb a rope all the way to the top!

I can’t wait to see where I will be in a month, a year or I don’t know... I’m really passionate about CrossFit and I will keep doing my burpees, AMRAP (as many reps as possible), and swing KB chan (my little kettlebell buddy) for as long as I can.
