I am totally into CrossFit Kyoto and one of the major reasons is that Russell and Ela are so friendly.

I have been taking care of my elderly parents and I notice how much of their physical strength & agility they lost with age. This inspired me to improve my own physical strength. Via YouTube I discovered that CrossFit is an effective way to get in shape, and so in October 2017 (at age 57) I started up with CrossFit Kyoto. I was anxious about whether I could do it, because I am a middle-aged woman and I've never been good at sports.
I'll never forget my first 200m run! That was on Nov 2017 and it was really TOUGH for me. For a second I thought about giving up 🙂 However I didn't quit, and in October 2018 (not even a year later) I could run 800m, and just the other day I completed 1 km during a CrossFit workout (June 2019).
Little by little I am also getting better at other kinds of exercise. It amazes me that I am now able to do movements I could never have done at the time I joined CrossFit Kyoto. This really has given me self-confidence. Furthermore I have lost 3kg in weight, my posture has improved and my butt and chest are firmer.
I started with eight CrossFit classes a month but this year I increased that to 12.
Thanks to CrossFit I’ve met many people of different nationalities, I have become good friends with some of them and really enjoy doing the workouts together. I am totally into CrossFit Kyoto and one of the major reasons is that our Coach Russell and Ela are so friendly.
I would like to continue doing CrossFit for as long as my health allows.
